Sigma Iota Omega

ΣIΩ

Sigma Iota Omega was founded on April 15,1964 as Bloomsburg’s first social fraternity. The group had a long-standing history of a strong membership, a great house, and even greater barn. The pine tree from the barn was used as the 2014 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Legend has it that the tree was fertilized by generations of Bloomsburg Greeks, leading to its selection.

Favorite things include: berets, potatoes, and the song from the Bridge Over the River Kwai

Alumni of distinction include John J. Rawle, Wister, and a lot of people you see in the office and you only know their one-named given fraternity nickname (e.g, Screw, etc.).

The chapter closed officially in 2021, but a partnership with Delta Pi was created ensuring that future generations of Greek men would know of SIO and their amazing contributions to Greek life at Bloomsburg University. Nothing can beat the memories and contributions of its 57 years at Bloomsburg.
